minimalist guitar - left handed

Unique guitar, hand made by Avraham around 1995-6. Carved from a single piece of mahogany it has a wonderful resonance.

A different playing technique is required for this guitar as the strings are quite low to the body, necessitating a gentle fingerpicking approach (Avraham himself seemed to be able to play brilliantly on his right-handed version of this guitar, according to reviews of his final album)

The only issue with this guitar is that one of the pickups is missing. The original owner told me he removed it because it sounded better with one pickup. (Although I suspect it may have been removed to give extra space under the strings for picking & plucking)

Tuning is facilitated by inserting an Allen key into the bridge posts and carefully turning (Allen key is built in to the neck cord - see pic)

It is also signed on the back by Avraham, but it's quite faded

There is a heavy cloth 'gig bag' made by Rahav (Avraham's wife), and the original receipt (which also mentions the gauge of fishing line required for a refret!)

The only left-handed guitar known to exist was made by Bar Rashi himself in 1995 or 1996. It is a signed minimalist instrument, identical to the one he played in the later period of his life and made to order for a client in Jerusalem. There are only 12 separate parts in total and the frets are one long thread of nylon. This creates a unique sound.

EDIT: A member asked me what the intonation was like on the guitar. It's not fantastic at the moment but I think it's partly because the strings are too light. I think because Avraham was a jazz guitarist he designed these for a heavier jazz gauge. Intonation on the A, D & B is good. The E strings are slightly sharp and the G is particularly sharp. (I think this guitar needs a wound G.) I'd prefer not to tamper with this guitar at the moment but if the buyer wants I can re-string before sending. The nylon will also need to be re-tightened as it's slightly loosened over the years. This is causing it to have a 'Coral sitar' type effect on the lower frets as they are vibrating and not sitting solidly on the mahogany
