270103306615023840 1990 Fodera Anthony Jackson Left Handed 6 String Contrabass Bass Guitar Lefty

Up for auction is a rare left-handed Fodera Anthony Jackson Contrabass which was completed on February 19th, 1990. The specs on this bass are:

34" Scale
24 fret neck
Zebrawood top
Walnut body
3 piece maple neck
Macassar ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays
Gold Fodera tuning machines and bridge
Straploks (you'll need straplok connectors on your guitar strap)
Bartolini "T style" soapbar pickups
Bartolini dual buffer preamp for the pickup blend knob (which is -way- nicer than having a 3-way toggle switch for pickup selection)
Haz Labs preamp: 9-volt, 2 band (treble +/- knob & bass +/- knob), with a mute switch and an active / passive switch.
String spacing at the bridge saddles is 3/4" (19mm) from the center of one string to the next.  Spacing at the first fret is 3/8" (9.5mm).
Neck width at the nut is 2 1/4" (57mm).

You can dial in pretty much any sound you want with this bass. I was never a fan of active electronics in basses, until I played this one.  I prefer this Haz preamp to the Mike Pope preamps.
I've been able to get a deep "dub" sound, a trumpet-like "punchy" mid-range sound and a transparent, clean and clear sound with it, which is perfect for slapping and popping, and for a guitar-like
sound (especially when making use of a pick and the C string). If you dig in and play aggressively, you can even get a very good snappy "growl" from this bass.

Overall, this bass is in fantastic condition for being nearly 22 years-old. The frets are in perfect shape, as are the neck, fretboard and electronics. The 6 saddle screws are the only non-original parts.
The body is in very good shape, and has what I consider to be normal wear for a bass this old. There are various marks on the bass here and there, but the zebrawood pattern hides them very well

(as I've demonstrated in the 9th and 10th pictures below. You have to look at -just- the right angle to notice most of them). There is some "worming" or "buckle rash" on the back of the bass
as well (which I've shown as best as I can in the pictures).

SHIPPING: Cost will depend on where you live.  Once the auction is over, I will get back to you with the actual shipping cost. The bass will be packed for shipping by a very reputable
Chicago area vintage guitar store that ships high-end instruments around the world on a weekly basis.  NOTE: I do not know the weight of the bass + shipping materials, so I had to enter
20 pounds as an estimated shipping weight for UPS Ground service in the United States.  As I said, I will get back to you with the ACTUAL cost after I've had it packed for shipping.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING is very expensive for large packages like this.  Expect to pay somewhere around $300+ to have this bass shipped outside of the United States.

PAYMENT: PayPal is preferred.
